Dormancy and Maturity in the Bulbil of Lilium lancifolium
Roh Seung-Moon

Abstract
The mature bulbil of Lilium lancifolium received cold temperature treatment at 6¡É and gibberellic acid(GA©ý), indole acetic acid(IAA), and kinetin treatments to observe the dormancy breaking and flowering responses from 1978 to 1980.
The second scale leaf emergence, as criteria of dormancy breaking, was promoted with IAA treatment and its effect overcame non-effective GA©ý or kinetin treatment. Bulbil weight was increased by 30 days of cold treatment which effect was removed by kinetin or GA©ý and IAA treatments.
Since flowering responses, as criteria of maturity, were not influenced by initial bulbil temperature or hormone treatments, it was concluded that the level of dormancy can not be a measure to determine the level of maturity in Lilium lancifolium lily.
